Today, we are proud to present our readers with our first artist interview and we feel like we couldn’t have picked a better guy to start off with. He’s going to be a household name very soon and we’re excited to talk with him before he blows up, so we can say we told you so. He has a show coming up in October at Galeria Con Safos in Santa Ana, CA. His name is Samuel Lowder, but you can just call him FrePrs.
Word of this show has already been circulating around the art blogs, forums, etc. for a little while now, but I couldn’t sit back and not post about one of my absolute favorite artists—Audrey Kawasaki. Her new show that opens 5/7 at Space Yui in Tokyo is called “Watching Shadows” or “Kageboushi”. There’s an awesome interview with her over at ArrestedMotion where she talks about the show, her take on Japan, and other interesting things. Check it out here. She just posted pictures of some pieces from her upcoming show, including a few process shots, on Okonomide- check them out. They look absolutely incredible and I can’t pick a favorite so I posted a few below.
