Word of this show has already been circulating around the art blogs, forums, etc. for a little while now, but I couldn’t sit back and not post about one of my absolute favorite artists—Audrey Kawasaki. Her new show that opens 5/7 at Space Yui in Tokyo is called “Watching Shadows” or “Kageboushi”. There’s an awesome interview with her over at ArrestedMotion where she talks about the show, her take on Japan, and other interesting things. Check it out here. You can get great updates on what’s going on with Audrey at here blogs: “Okonomide” and “Kimagure Gaki“. You can also see all of her works over on her website audrey-kawasaki.com. She just posted pictures of some pieces from her upcoming show, including a few process shots, on Okonomide- check them out. They look absolutely incredible and I can’t pick a favorite so I posted a few below.
UPDATE: If you’re looking to get one of her paintings or one of her sold out prints, then head on over to the Space Yui list page for her show. (Warning: prices are not cheap, but totally worth it if you have the cash)
